West Nipissing – For the seventh consecutive year, Collège Boréal’s campus in Nipissing has launched today the Explore language-learning program, offered in partnership with Canadore College, in North Bay.

Coordinated by the Council of Ministers of Education (Canada), this program is intended mainly for youths aged 17 and over. Its objective is to promote the use of English and French as a second language, while allowing participants to discover various regions of Canada.

“We are pleased that these 28 young participants from across Canada will be able to benefit from Collège Boréal’s well-recognized expertise in the learning of French to these”, says Claude Dubuc, Director of Collège Boréal’s Nipissing campus. “Thanks to the sociocultural activities scheduled during their stay, we hope these young Canadians will appreciate the richness of our Franco-Ontarian culture even more.”

The Explore program runs in 5-week sessions, which includes in-class and practical activities leading to the discovery of nature and the northern francophone culture. The first session offered by Collège Boréal starts today while a second one will begin on June 28”.

The Explore program is funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage and is presented as part of the Official Languages Support Program.

“Promoting knowledge and a vibrant culture”
This is Collège Boréal’s vision, a French-language institution of postsecondary and skills training, established in 1995, which contributes to the growth and development of communities in Northern and Central South-western Ontario. Having attained the highest graduation rate for the last 8 years and, for the 7th time in 11 years, the highest graduate satisfaction rate among the 24 community colleges in Ontario, Collège Boréal encourages the values of humanism, excellence and inclusion as well as an active awareness of environmental issues that affect our society. Collège Boréal is the first education sector representative officially designated by the government of Ontario under the French Language Services Act.
